Dorothy J. Wolf, age 80, of Rapid River, passed away Tuesday morning, January 9, 2024 at Christian Park Village.

Dorothy was born on October 15, 1943, in Maplewood, WI, the daughter of Clifford and Catherine (Hendricks) Hardwick. Dorothy was raised in St. Jacques and graduated from Nahma High School in 1961. She then moved to Milwaukee and worked in banking. She then returned to St. Jacques and continued working in banking at Northern Michigan Bank in Rapid River. In 1973, Dorothy was united in marriage to Peter Wolf and together they raised their children.

Dorothy was also a devoted parishioner of St. Charles of Borromeo Catholic Church in Rapid River where she served on the parish council and also was a Eucharistic minister. She also was an avid reader, mainly of mystery books, and also was a great baker. She especially cherished visiting her grandchildren, and she will be truly missed.

Dorothy is survived by her children Donna (Daniel) Todtenhagen, Steven (Bobbie) Wolf, Christopher Wolf, and Nathan Wolf; grandchildren Nathan (Cassandra) Todtenhagen, Nicholas Todtenhagen, and Sydney Wolf; great-grandson Neal; sister-in-law Connie Hardwick; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Wolf, parents, and brothers Richard Stilson, William Hardwick, and James Hardwick.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s name may be directed to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial honoring Dorothy will begin at 2:30 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Rapid River with Rev. Fr. Brandon Yanni officiating. A luncheon will be served following mass in the parish hall.

    We are so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. It is always hard to lose your Mom. Wish I had known she was at Christian Park, I would have visited her also. Dorothy was a good woman and raised a fine family! Prayers for strength in the coming days

    Dorothy was such a nice person. No matter what the situation she was always very friendly. I will miss her smiling face at bingo.

    I’ll always remember her warm smile and kind words. She always had a kind word for everyone.
    She will be missed every Thursday morning.
