Dorothy F. Alexander, age 80, of Gladstone passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba.
Dorothy was born March 28, 1943 in Wyandotte, Michigan, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Gross) Kalesar. She was united in marriage to Gerald L. Alexander. Dorothy graduated from Northern Michigan University and worked as a home care specialist shortly after graduation. She also worked as a transcriptionist for OSF St. Francis for several years. Dorothy enjoyed the outdoors and taking rides through the woods during the fall.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Gerald Alexander of Iron Mountain, daughter, Christine Alexander of Manistique, grandchildren, Tyler Brandt, Randa Denny, Katie Scott and Rachel Scott, great grandchildren, McKenna and McKenzie and a brother, Joseph Kalesar.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald and her parents.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 30 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone.
A luncheon will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Gladstone.  She will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery.

    It was a pleasure to call you friend, I will miss you Dorothy , I’ll miss our friendship , the laughter we shared the Birthday cards and Christmas cards over the years. R.i.p. my Friend.

    I want to send my deepest sympathies to Gerry and Chrissy. I wish I could be there with y’all but I have no transportation. I miss you guys and send hugs. I’ll miss your mom she was always so awesome.

    So sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. I only worked with her a short time at OSF, but what a gentle soul she was. And her laugh was sweet. Prayers to all.
