Donald A. “Punchy” Wallin, age 79, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully, on Monday August 28, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba, with his loving family by his side.

Punchy was born July 9, 1944, in Escanaba, the son of Louie and Ida (Derusha) Wallin. On August 17, 1968, He was united in marriage to the former Barbara LaCrosse, at St. Anne Church, and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Escanaba. Punchy worked for various employers throughout the Escanaba community. He loved to spend time with his family and adored time spent with his grandchildren. Going to camp was a favorite pastime that Punchy looked forward to each season. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife Barb, Punchy is survived by:

Daughters: Jodi (John Carlson) Ducheny and Lesa (Tim) Martineau

Brother: David (Jo) Wallin

Sister: Donna Beauchamp

Grandchildren: Brayden, Maddy and Gracie

Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Punchy was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Ida and his siblings, Wally, Diane, Elsie, Joyce, Leonard, Bernice, Sonny “Don’t Cha Know”, Harold and Melvin.

Punchy’s family will receive friends on Saturday September 9, 2023, from 12:00PM to 3:00PM, at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services and a time of sharing will follow visiting hours, at 3:00PM, at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba, with Pastor Jason Janich of New Life Church officiating. A celebration gathering will follow funeral services at the residence of Punchy and Barb Wallin. All are invited and welcome to attend.
