Donald J. Erickson Sr, age 85, of 5470 25th Road, Gladstone, passed away Wednesday February 26, 2014 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.
Donald was born June 6, 1928 in Rapid River, MI the son of John Erickson and Eva Pepin. He was the youngest of 9 children. Donald was united in marriage to the former Charlotte Farrell on June 4, 1949. Donald and Charlotte worked outside all day most of their lives. Together with family and friends their family home was built in Brampton. They raised cattle and birthed calves, cut and baled hay. Donald cut, split, and stacked timber to heat their home. He fed deer on his property and wild turkeys. He also made deer blinds for his friends. He made 2 ponds on his property and filled them with fish. He did this and still worked construction operating a bulldozer. He will be remembered as one of the best bulldozer operator
