Gladstone, MI

Derek Mark Weide, age 74, of Gladstone, passed away (Not without a Fight) early Tuesday morning, May 16, 2023, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.

Derek was born January 30,1949, in Detroit, MI, the son of Donald and Helen (Hinds) Weide. He was raised in Detroit before moving to Iron Mountain where he finished his senior year, graduating in 1967. On January 31,1970, Derek was united in marriage to the former Collette Krueger, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, and together the couple eventually settled in Kingsford where they made their home and raised their two children. In 1996, they moved to Gladstone where they started Fox Power Inc. After 26 years, Derek finally decided to retire so he could spend more time with his beloved wife and family, doing the many things he loved to do.

Derek will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help anyone in need, never expecting anything in return. His family and friends could always count on him to help with any project and he was the one they went to when they had a question or couldn’t figure something out. Derek enjoyed boating, fast cars, riding motorcycles, creating crazy and amazing items, trying new things and spending time with his family and friends. Derek lived his life to the fullest and was always happy and smiling.
