Della Irene Stowe, age 92, of 2002 18th Avenue South; Escanaba passed away Sunday morning May 23rd, 2010 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba where she was a patient for the previous three weeks.
Della was born November 18th, 1917 in Wells, MI the daughter of Eldin and Lucy (McClish) Davis. She married Douglas Stowe August 21st, 1939 in Gladstone and they made their home in the Kingsford area for many years while Douglas was employed for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iron Mountain. While residing there, Della enjoyed volunteering at that hospital for a number of years.
After her husband passed away in 1987, Della returned to Delta County and had resided in the Gladstone and Escanaba areas.
In addition to her volunteer work in Dickinson County, Della was a member of the Escanaba VFW Auxiliary and the Purple Heat Auxiliary #1976 of Escanaba.
