One Tribute for “Delia Oja

I have always loved Aunt Delia. I first met her when I was a very young girl and was dating her nephew, who I later married. She was always warm and loving and kind. She made everyone feel special and “at home”. I spent some happy times in the summer kitchen at her and Uncle Bill’s house. Once I told her that I didn’t like to cook, and she said “That’s ok, and maybe you never will.” Well, she was right, I never did!! But her kindness to me will never be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to all of her family. My thoughts are with you.

I’ll never forget the kindness of “Grandma and Grandpa Oja” when ever we came “up north”. My sister and I weren’t grandchildren, but they always made us feel that way. The smells from the kitchen, exploring the property with Scott and Mike, and seeing the wonderful mill are memories I’ll never forget.

I have had a lot of great memories of Delia. Her kindness and her smiling face will be truly missed. Every time I went to visit her she always had homemade cookies or treats and insisted that I take some home for my family. She was truly a wonderful person and I am blessed that she was one of my customers. I will always cherish my visits with her.
