Manistique, MI

Debra L. Wentworth, age 73, of Manistique passed away peacefully at home with her loving daughter by her side along with her sassy sidekick Sandi, early Tuesday morning, November 19, 2024.

Deb was born April 29, 1951 in Highland Park, MI, the daughter of Charles Cannon and Edna (Lakin) Wylemski.

Debbie was a lover of Jesus and wanted to make sure that she shared His light. Even during her many health struggles she was joyful and sure of her faith. So many people marveled at her strength and the peaceful way she handled each trial. She would often say things like, “God’s got me here for a reason. I don’t know what it is, but there’s a reason. There’s no point in getting upset when you can’t change it anyway.” She trusted God with everything. She was a great listener and was very wise and supportive.

Debbie was a strong advocate for family. She loved her children and grandchildren with unsurpassed devotion and strength. There was never a day that went by when any of them doubted her love for them. They may have had different opinions and gone through difficult times, but she always made sure love was expressed. She told them, “You can tell me anything you want but you’d better say it with respect,” and, “I may not agree with everything you do, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love you.” Her legacy of love will carry on through her family for generations.
