Deborah M. (Sword) St. Cyr, age 74, of Escanaba, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Bishop Noa Home.

Debbie was born October 13, 1949, in Escanaba, MI the daughter of Merrill and Shirley (Stiemert) Sword. Shirley passed away during childbirth and Merrill was united in marriage to Jean. Jean stepped in to raise Debbie as her own.

Debbie was united in marriage to Robert J. St. Cyr on October 27, 1977. They spent 50 loving years together.

Debbie was kind hearted and always generous and looking out for other people. She was a seamstress who enjoyed making many things and especially enjoyed gifting them.

She loved to cook and made a career out of it. She started cooking at Aide for Lutherans and eventually was a cook at Christian Park Center. She also enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader.

In addition to her loving Husband, Robert J. she is survived by:

Daughter: Marcia (Donald) Hardy of Escanaba, MI

Siblings: Mollie Sword, Kim (Bruce) Banerdt, Monica (Ron) Smith and Dean (Samantha) Sword.

Grandchildren: Jordyn and Dylan Hardy

Debbie was preceded in death by her Parents: Merrill and Shirley and Merrill’s second wife: Jean Sword.

Family will receive friends on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 11:00 until 1:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Fr. Brandon Yanni officiating at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. An entombment laying Debbie to rest will take place in the Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.
