Clara M. Lake, age 79, of Escanaba passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Christian Park Health Care Center.
Clara was born May 26, 1933 in Superior, Wisconsin, the daughter of Sheldon and Agnes “Ruby” (VanErt) Noggle. At an early age Clara moved to Gladstone with her family. She graduated from the Gladstone High School and was a parishoner of the All Saints Catholic Church. Clara eventually moved to Escanaba where she worked as a bookkeeper and receptionist for Northern Motor Rebuilders for many years until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, cake decorating, geneology, working with stained glass and sewing. Clara most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her many grand dogs and cats.
Clara is survived by two daughters, Roberta (Robert) Benson of Escanaba and Coleen Lake of Rapid River; son, Peter (Pam) Lake of Gladstone; two grandchildren, Jason (Megan) Boudreau and Lindsey Benson; two great grandchildren, Logan and Laine Boudreau; her sister, Edie (Ray) Warner of Wells; her brother, James Noggle of Sheboygan, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Linda Noggle.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Memorial services will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Gil Neurohr officiating.
Memorial contributions in Clara’s name may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the Delta Animal Shelter.

To the family and friends of Clara ~ I was saddened to hear of Clara’s passing. I got to know Clara quite well in the year that she shared meal times with my father in law at Christian Park.
