    Dear Family of Cheryl,

I want to express my sincere sympathy for the loss of your loved one. You can be assured that comfort and hope are found in the pages of the Bible. Revelations 21:4 speaks of a time when sorrow will be no more. This is a wonderful hope during our times of grief and pain. Please take care of yourselves.

Dear Joyce, Jim and family members.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Cheryl’s passing. I have spent so much time with Cheryl that she truly is a member of my family. She is one of my own kids. I first met Cheryl in the ISD Learning Center and there she became part of my life. We were together at Church, at CCD classes for the adults,at Meet the Bishop Days which started back in 1995, every month at CHAT, laughing, talking dancing, playing Bingo and of course eating. Cheryl was proud of all her accomplishments and I loved hearing about them. Thank you, dear family, for sharing Cheryl with me, my family and the Community. I will miss her! I loved her as my own child.

We’ll always remember Cheryl’s smile and pleasant personality. Always asking about our family when we met. Cherish the fun time at Special Olympics years ago. She surely was an angel to all she met throughout her life – a very special gift.

Jim, Joyce, family & friends, Scott, the girls’, and I are not going to be at Cheryls funeral today. We had to bring Taytem downstate yesterday for an unexpected blood transfusion and her final dose of chemotherapy. We are so sorry we can’t be there. Cheryl meant alot to all of us & we became good friends over the last 8 nyears being neighbors. Everytime the girls walked out the door they always checked to see if Cheryl was outside. She always had a smile & hug for them. They could sit & talk to her forever, which made us late for things several times. LOL! She never forgot to ask them how their day was, and how Taytem was doing. I think children are the best judge of character & my girls LOVED Cheryl! After every conversation my girls walked away from her with smiles on their faces. I remember one time in particular when the girls were talking to Cheryl & Kelsey came up to me after with a huge smile and said “Mom, Cheryl really loves me”! It brought tears to my eyes and I said “She sure does”! I’ll never forget that moment, as a parent you want so much for your children to feel love from people. I wish I would’ve thanked her for that, because she loved those kids. ( And my cat, she really loved my cat too) Every smile Cheryl put on my girls’ faces brought joy to my heart. We will all miss her tremendously. She was a wonderful woman who brought happiness wherever she went. I think that is a true testament to the way she was raised. So “Thank you” Jim and Joyce for raising such a loving person who has blessed so many peoples lives. She will never be forgotten.
We will be praying for your family today.

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet Cheryl. She has always remembered me from so many years ago and I always loved her sweet smile. She used to do some things years ago with my sister Berdie Mae (Theresa) Anderson. Her along with her beautiful smile will be truly missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers and I found this poem and thought it might be of some comfort to you.

    I always took for granted,
what I thought I’d never lose.
Because I never thought it would happen,
until I heard the dreaded news.
They say you were chosen for his garden,
    His preciously hand picked bouquet.
    “God really needed her,
    That’s why she couldn’t stay.”

    Saying goodbye is never easy,
It’s the hardest thing to do.
But what hurts me even more
Is not the chance to say it to you.

So today, Jesus, as you are listening
    in your home above;
Would you go and find my child,
And give her all my love!
