Carol S. (Pierson) Carlson, age 59, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2020, at Murray’s Country View Adult Foster Care.

Carol was born January 6, 1961, in Escanaba, the daughter of Harvey and Margaret (Paeske) Pierson. Carol was raised in Northtown Escanaba and was a graduate of Escanaba High School. She later attended Bay de Noc Community College. In 1982, Carol was united in marriage to Duane Carlson, and they have spent 38 wonderful years together. Carol worked at Northern Michigan Bank for 5 years before working at BayBank for 28 years, most recently as a mortgage lender. She retired in 2018. Carol loved her job and was very good with people. Carol also loved animals, travel, decorating their home, and spending time at their cottage on Lake Michigan. She truly was a vibrant person, and will be deeply missed by so many.

Carol is survived by her loving husband Duane, brother Robert Pierson; sisters Barbara (Brian) Sorby, Betty Petersen, and Janet Borden; brother-in-law Bruce (Donna) Carlson and sister-in-law Denise (Steve) Gardner; nieces Nicole (Josh) Martin and their children Jack and Wendy, Jillian (Daniel) Lange, and Natalie Gardner; nephews Kevin (Dawn) Sorby and their daughter Alyssa, Jeff Sorby, Justin Carlson, and Jeremy Carlson; and parents-in-law Eldon and Helen Carlson, as well as their three rescue cats, Buddy, Saucy, and Itty Bitty.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents.

Private services honoring Carol will be held at the convenience of the family.

    Duane so sorry to hear of Carol’s passing! I remember working at McDonald’s what fun we all had those were great times. I also worked with Carol at Baybank for many years.     I’m so sorry to here about Carol’s passing, it breaks my heart to hear about this. Carol was a beautiful person, her friendly smile, her beautiful blond hair, when Carol would walk into a room everybody new, I remember playing cards & camping and just getting together we always had so much Fun the (Old Gang). I know its been awhile since I seen you guy’s and some of us went our own way’s. Memories and the great times we had together I will never forget. Duane my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Stay strong my friend..

    To Duane, Jan and all the family. I was shocked to see of Carol’s passing when checking the Daily Press online. My sympathy goes out to you. I remember Carol and her beautiful smile. I hope you find peace in the wonderful memories you have.

    Carol was a wonderful person I new many years ago sorry to see her pass across the river of life. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. She lives on in the hearts and memories of family and friends and is in the grace of our Lord.

    Duane, I am so sorry to hear of Carol’s death. I worked with Carol at the mall branch of Northern Michigan Bank just before you two were married. We had a blast working together. Carol was such a truly nice, kind, and caring person.

    So sorry to read about Carol’s passing. I remember working with her at Bay Bank years ago. She was always so positive and as a new teller she was a great mentor to me. She will be missed.

    I was so sorry to hear about Carol’s passing. I worked at the Baybank office in Gladstone, and Carol was family. She always brought a smile to your face whenever you saw her. Her kind, caring & thoughtful ways made her an outstanding friend. She made her work environment a pleasant place to be. You were always greeted with her wonderful smile and ready to help in any way she could.

    I live in Tucson AZ now & retired 12 years ago. Every summer I return to visit family & friends & always looked forward to getting together with our little group of retirees including Carol. Due to covid I didn’t make it this year but look forward to next summer. When we get together we will celebrate her life & her dear friendship to us all.

    Just heard about Carol’s passing. So sorry for your loss Duane. She was always fun to be around and was full of joy and laughter. I hope the many great memories you two had will sustain you during this sad time.

    I’m so sorry to hear of Carol’s passing. My days working with Carol at Baybank were the best working years ever! She was a great friend and mentor. We had lots of crazy fun at work and away from work. My thoughts and prayers are with you Duane, and the whole family.

    This news was just heartbreaking, I am so deeply saddened to see of Carol’s passing. Duane, my deep sympathy to you & your entire family including your shared & beloved kitties. We always shared our love of those furry felines! Carol was beautiful, warm & full of fun with a captivating smile…..she will be missed, but her memories will warm you in the days, months & years ahead.

    Carol, my darling sweet sister, words can’t express how much I miss you three years after you left us. You have changed my world around and I think of our precious times together all the time. Thank you for being my sister and my friend ! I hope you are with mom and dad. Love forever.
