Beulah Savola

Beulah J. Savola, age 80, formerly of 1600 South 30th Street, Escanaba, died Friday morning November 2, 2007 at the Christian Park Health Care Facility where she has resided for the past two years.
Beulah was born June 14, 1927, in Osier, the daughter of Etsel and Goldie (Hobbs) Shepley. Beulah was raised in Osier and attended the Osier school system. Following school and on September 30, 1944, Beulah married Leslie J. Savola, in Gladstone, and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Trenary. Throughout her life, Beulah was employed for the Escanaba Steam Laundry, the Hub Truck Stop; she made grave blankets and cut Christmas trees. She worked for Community Mental Health with the develop mentally disabled until her retirement, at which time, Beulah continued working doing respite care for the develop mentally disabled, and finally, she was employed for Social Services providing home care aid for her consumers. Her hobbies included; cooking, shopping, cleaning, spending time with family and going to camp.

Survivors include:

1 Son: Leslie “Sonny” Savola of Gladstone, MI

1 Daughter: Gloria Matthews of Escanaba, Mi

8 Grandchildren: Mark, Melissa, Tracy, Amy, Jimmy, Andy, Jeffrey and Stacey.

Also surviving are 9 great grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephew and cousins, and special friends, Mary (Ray) DelMont of Wells.

Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, Etsel and Goldie, Husband, Leslie, 4 Sisters and 2 Brothers.
