Bernice E. Gasperich, age 84, formerly of the Fairview Manor in Gladstone, died Tuesday May 29, 2007 at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers where she has resided for the past five years.
Bernice was born December 13, 1922, in Escanaba, the daughter of Charles and Martha (Olive) Lemerand. She was raised in Gladstone and attended the Gladstone schools. Following school, Bernice married Joseph Gasperich and together the couple moved to Kipling for a short period of time before relocating to Gladstone to settle down and raise their family. Joseph preceded Bernice in death on January 1, 1977. Throughout her life, Bernice worked primarily as a homemaker and in addition, she was employed over the years as a cook for the All Saints Church Convent and the Snack Bar Restaurant.

Bernice was a member of the All Saints Church in Gladstone. She enjoyed playing bingo, trips to the casino, reading romance novels and spending time with her loving family. Bernice will be fondly
remembered for her legacy of smiles.

Bernice is survived by:

1 Daughter: Elizabeth Miller of Richton Park, IL

Grandchildren: Kathleen (Perry) Uhazie, Robert (Cathy) Nebel, Joseph Nebel

Great Grandchildren: Chad, Lillie, Dylan, Rachel, Natalie, Holly, Andy, P.J. and Collin

Special Nieces, and Nephews: Duane (Bonnie) Petrovich, Darlene (Donald) Couillard

Great Nieces and Nephews: Chuck, Ronnie (Wendy) and Jessica (Mike)

Great Great Nieces and Nephews: LeAnn, Zachary, Kevin, Brandon, Hailey, Madison, Zachary and Alex

In addition to her parents, Charles and Martha and her husband Joseph, Bernice was preceded in death by:

1 Daughter: Barbara (Gasperich) Nebel

1 Sister: Dorothy Petrovich

Great Niece: Tammy Priebe

Memorial mass celebrating the life of Bernice Gasperich will take place on Monday July 16, 2007, at 8:30AM, at the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. Graveside services will follow mass, at 10:00AM, at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone, with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow of the All Saints Church officiating. Memorial contributions in Bernice
