Dear Shirl and Dockie and Families: I am so sorry to hear about Auntie Bern. I just learned today as have not been current with my emails. My prayers are with you all. I am so glad Bob and I got to see them both last fall when we were home. Had to have coffee, of course, and she gave me a Christmas towel she had made. Your Dad thought I was his sister, Corrinne, that day and I explained that I just look like her. They will both be missed. Love to you and yours. Gert and Bob

I’m so sorry to hear of Aunt Bern’s passing. She is with John now and probably playing pinnacle with my Mom & Dad up in heaven. I have fond memories of going to their house as a kid and having such yummy desserts. My prayers are with you.

To The Family of Mrs. Bernadette LaValley,

I wasn’t sure of any other way to send my condolences and assure you of my gratitude and prayers for your mother.

Shortly before she died Mrs. LaValley purchased an Icon of Christ that will match our Icon of the Blessed mother. Unfortunately she did not see the completed project, however when the Icon arrives at Holy Name, every time I look at it your mother will come to my mind and many others.

As the principal of Holy Name, these small gestures of generosity and of faith mean a great deal to me as well as many others. This Icon will not only hang on our wall it will be placed next to the Blessed Sacrament in our Chapel. Right next to our Lord and Savoir.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the funeral today, as I have a prior commitment. Please be assured of my prayers. When the Icon is completed and hanging in our chapel, I will invite your family to the blessing and veneration ceremony.

May Christ through the intercession of our Blessed Mother be a source of strength and consolation to your family.

    In Jesus’ Holy Name,

    Shirley,

I know what it is to loose your mother, age has no baring on the loss; it is probably the hardest thing in the world. I know the two of you were close and you were a devoted daughter to a wonderful mother. You must have wonderful memories and this will help you survive the hardestof times. Please accept my deepest sympathies. You and your mom will be in my prayers.

What a beautiful picture of my little Aunt! She is a beautiful lady. I will try to go on Monday but it depends on Robert. He just wept when I told him about Aunt Burn. He said,” She was my friend. I would love to go.” He could not make the trip now but he is so happy he saw her the last time we went.

She is happy with her Johnny and her Lord. We know it’s best but that doesn’t make losing her any easier. All our love and prayers to each of you.

    Dear Shirley, Dick & family,

I was sad to read the paper this morning and learn about Aunt Bern. She was a wonderful person, I always enjoyed her so much, usually shopping at Elmer’s.

I won’t be able to attend her wake or funeral. I have a Hearing & Vision Conference next M-T-W, downstate. Please know you’re in my thoughts and prayers.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Bern. We are so thankful that we took the time to see her this summer on our way back to Minnesota. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone. We hope that she has had a chance to play a game of Pinochle with Curly, Shirly, and Johnny. Hopefully Curly didn’t cheat this time. She will be missed by many. Because of our Savior Jesus, we know that we will one day meet again. Love to all, Al, Sharilyn, Courtnie & Brice De Grand
