Dad, you were a born sportsman, a self-taught hunter, trapper and fisherman, who loved nothing more than his beloved U.P,, the dark earth, cool morning air and the absolute silence of nature. My son after being given a black powder gun by you and walking his first steps on the shores of Lake Michigan, declared I’m gonna live here someday. Proving at last what a person is made of is passed on as wire in the blood. In that moment I knew a part of you would live forever and so I see you smiling back at me at the dinner table and know as surely as we pass from this earth we also live on. Be at peace Dad you are truly free.
