Armand L. Olson, age 79, of Gladstone, passed away Saturday evening, July 6, 2013, after spending a wonderful day with his loving family.
Armand was born July 14, 1933, in Gladstone, the son of Lloyd and Elsie (Anderson) Olson. He was raised in Gladstone and was a 1951 graduate of the Gladstone Senior High School. Following graduation, Armand enlisted in the United State AirForce where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge, Armand moved to Milwaukee where he gained employment with A.O. Smith Products, working from 1965 until his retirement in 1996. Armand then returned to the Upper Peninsula to spend his retirement years in Gladstone. Armand was a member of the Gladstone American Legion August Mattson Post #71. He enjoyed going to camp, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards and in his retirement years, working in his yard. Armand loved to attend family gatherings. His humorous nature and witty remarks were most enjoyable to his family. He will be deeply missed.

Lenore (Richard) Hanson of Rapid River, MI
Special Niece: Linda (Kelly) Wicklund of Rapid River, MI
Special Neighbors: Jerry (Michele) Hadel of Gladstone, MI
Also listed among the surviving family are many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Armand was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Elsie:

Military rites, conducted by the Gladstone American Legion August Mattson Post #71, will be held privately at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting Armand

I am so happy we were able to enjoy the wonderful Anderson Reunion July 6th; and as you left, God took you home to meet the rest of our loved ones that had passed on before; will always treasure the memories, kindness, love & humor that you had. I have countless memories of my Uncle, but one of them that sticks out in the recent years is when we were watching the Green Bay Packer game and he said that Ahmad Green had the same name as him, he called him Armand Green, and everytime the announcer mentioned Ahmad Green, Armand would say “see he said it again, he keeps calling him Armand Green”…. I will never forget that game, Thanksgiving at my folks with Uncle Armnand and Uncle Richie….both gone now, but never forgotten… all the memories at his house playing with my cousins all over in his huge yard. Plus the few I have of when I brought Savanna over to see him, he enjoyed her and we have a very beautiful photo of the three of us in his yard and the spot he picked to have the photo taken.
