Yetive L. DeRouin, age 92, formerly of Delta County , passed away Tuesday Evening, June 26, 2012, at St. Paul Homes in Greenville Pennsylvania .

Yetive was born, December 27, 1919, in Schaffer , MI , the daughter of Joseph and Laura (Bedard) Nontell. She was raised in Schaffer where she attended the local school system. On April 21, 1942, Yetive was united in marriage to Emil R. DeRouin, at St. Joseph Church in Escanaba, and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Wells. Yetive was extremely passionate to her Catholic faith. She was a former member of the St. Anthony Church in Wells and a longtime member of the St. Thomas Church in Escanaba. Yetive loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping, sewing, knitting and in younger years dancing. In addition, Yetive enjoyed the art of Karate, well into her late fifties. She will be deeply missed.

Yetive is survived by her son, Dan DeRouin of Cape Coral, FL., her daughters, Emily (Fred) Kukura of Buffalo, NY., Jill (Richard) LaChance of Perkins, MI., Jewell Jackson of Pittsburgh, PA., Lana (Kevin) Cutler of Cape Coral, FL., and one sister, Madeline (Mag) McCann of River Falls, WI.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Yetive was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Laura, her loving husband, Emil.

, and Leo Nontell. 

Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Yetive L. DeRouin will take place on Wednesday, July 25th, at 5:00PM, at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba with Rev. Fr. Rick Courier officiating. Luncheon will follow in the St. Thomas Parish Hall. Yetive will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Escanaba. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the DeRouin family with arrangements..

    I remember Aunt Yetive hosting my 5th birthday party in Escanaba, Mi. I remember her love of family and of life. She will be missed.
