William E. Jones Jr., age 89, of Brampton passed away at home on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

William was born September 20, 1935 in Escanaba, the son of William and Flora (Lee) Jones Sr. He was united in marriage to Joyce Champeau on June 25, 1955. He worked for Gafner Machinery/Valmet in Gladstone for 30 years. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He was kind and always willing to lend a hand.

William is survived by his wife, Joyce, his children, Dale (Mary) Jones of Gladstone, Keith (Jacquie) Jones of Escanaba, Connie (Rodney) Trepanier of Lena, WI and Colleen (John) Hendrickson of Brampton; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a sister, Carol King of Escanaba and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Miron (Barb) and Warren (Barb) Jones, his sisters, Evelyn Caswell, Marie Dahn, Doris (William) Dahn and Dorothy Hardwick and a brother-in-law, David King.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Memorial services will follow at 5:00 PM with Fr. Brandon Yanni officiating. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall at All Saints Church in Gladstone. William will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.

    My heartfelt condolences to the Jones family, when I learned of Uncle Billy’s passing I was quite taken back, Unfortunately we weren’t real close in the later years and I’m not proud of that, but I will cherish the wonderful memories of him that I do have, working on his Pontiac cars with him, which proudly made have the love for Pontiacs that I do today, fishing and hunting with him among other things All great memories that will stay with me forever! RIP Uncle Billy

    My Grandpa Jones was a man of strong values, a generous spirit, and an incredible work ethic. I’ll always cherish the memories of summers spent fishing by his side, learning from him not just about fishing, but about life. He was a true craftsman, always busy creating something in his shed. Most importantly, he treated everyone with respect and love. I feel so blessed to have had him in my life.

    Bill was one of the nice s person you would love to have as a friend. Always willing to help you when you needed it. Will miss you love from the Verbrigghe family.

    My heart and arms go out to Aunt Joyce and the rest of Uncle Billy’s family. The heartbreak of your loss is devastating but he is with you in spirit to help you through this transition. He is in your hearts and in your many wonderful memories. Allow the grief to process as you cherish him and everything he brought to your lives.

    Uncle Bill was always kind. I will always have great memories of him. He loved working outdoors on his property. He will be truly missed.
