Werner Waldemar Palmquist, age 87, of 612 North 7thStreet, Gladstone, MI died Tuesday morning June 8,
2004 at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers
where he was a patient.
He was born August 8, 1916 in Gladstone of the late
Ole and Mina (Hegbloom) Palmquist. He was a lifelong
resident of Gladstone.
Werner was employed with the Soo Line Railroad for 33
years retiring as an engineer. He was a veteran of WW
II serving in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He was a
member of First Lutheran Church in Gladstone, American
Legion August Mattson Post #71, Masonic Lodge, Delta
Shrine Club, 32nd Degree Masons, Marquette Lodge #101
of the Free and Accepted Masons, Delta County AMVETS,
and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Division
#185.
Survivors include his wife the former Betty Dekker
whom he married on June 26, 1982 at First Lutheran
Church in Gladstone.
Daughter: Sharon Ambeau of Escanaba
Sister: Mildred Seronko of Powers

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
Funeral services for the public celebrating the life
of Werner W. Palmquist will be held on Thursday at
10:30 A.M. at Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone with Rev.
Jonathan Schmidt of First Lutheran Church officiating.
According to his wishes, no public visitation will be
held.
