Virginia B. Pajnich, age 91, of Rapid River passed away early Thursday morning, September 22, 2022 at UP Health Systems in Marquette.

Virginia was born February 26, 1931, in Escanaba, MI, the daughter of George Sheldon and Marlyn (Young) Cobb. She was raised in Escanaba then in her teenage years, moved to Stonington on a farm. She graduated from Rapid River High School Class of 1949.

Virginia worked on Mackinac Island the summer after she graduated then attended Cloverland Commercial College. She worked for Alger-Delta and the Ensign Post Office.

While living on the farm in Stonington, she met and later married William Pajnich, the milkman. They were united in marriage on May 19, 1951.
She was a 4-H leader, active in St. Charles Church and pasty making, served as Ensign township clerk, Rapid River Lions Club and Rapid River Senior Center.

Bill and Virginia enjoyed traveling in their motorhome.

She was blessed with 3 grandsons, who she adored, which led to 2 granddaughters-in-law and 2 great grandchildren. Her great grandchildren were the light of her life.

With wonderful caregivers, she was able to maintain her independence and live at home until 2019. She moved into Bishop Noa home where she thrived. She made many new friends and enjoyed all the activities there.

The Pajnich family would like to extend a thank you to all the wonderful caregivers at Bishop Noa who provided such love and comfort to Virginia.

Son: John (Debbie) Pajnich of Rapid River, MI
2 Daughters: Mary (Jerry) Wilson of Rapid River, MI
Jean LeBombard of Marquette, MI
Grandchildren: Alex (Melani) Pajnich, Riley (Kayla) Pajnich and Payton LeBombard
Great Grandchildren: William and Veyda Pajnich

Virginia is preceded in death by her Husband and Parents.

Family will receive friends on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 3:30 until 5:30 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow visiting hours at 5:30 PM with Rev. Fr. William Ssozi officiating. Virginia will be laid to rest in the Rapid River Cemetery.
The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Pajnich family.

    Your Mom was such a sweet lady. She would always make it a point to smile at you and say hello if you were in eye contact! My Mom has been gone many years, and I still want to call her or ask about a recipe! .for strength.
