Violet Pepin Wilfong, age 85, of 1401 North 23rd Street Lot 24, Escanaba, MI passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 6, 2005 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba surrounded by her loving family.
Violet was born April 30, 1920 in Iron River, MI the daughter of Arthur and Eva (Greenwood) LaMarch. She attended school in Milwaukee, WI and married Raymond Pepin on June 2, 1936 in Escanaba. During WW II she worked as a Rosie the Riveter in an airplane plant in Detroit. Along with her husband they made concrete lawn ornaments. She also worked at the Berro Cannery, Delta Furniture Company and various grocery stores as a meat wrapper. Raymond passed away on March 12, 1989. Violet married Ray Wilfong on June 20, 1992 at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba and they made their residence in Escanaba.
Violet was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Escanaba, the Escanaba Eagles, Civil Air Patrol and the Hardee
