To the Cole family: Thanks for being so generous and and sharing Vi with the rest of us! She was basically everyone’s grandma/mom/sister/aunt/friend. She meant a lot to our whole community and she is irreplaceable. My favorite thing about her was that she came from a totally different era but her spirit was so young and timeless!

This spunky lady will definitely keep the angels on their toes!

We had a lot of fun with Vi at Mid-Pen football games. I remember one at North Central (I think) and it was cold. Vi went to her car and pulled a lot of blankets and quilts out and passed them around! Much better! She was a sweet lady. Cheryl Berkey

My sincere condolences to all of Vi’s loved ones. What a beautifully written obituary in the Daily Press, she would have been so pleased! I will always remember laughing to the point of crying during some of our hotly contended card games. I think she may have slugged me in the arm a time or two, which of course, made us laugh all the harder! She was a wonderful woman, I wish I had known her better and been able to spend more time with her. Above all else, she surely loved her grandchildren, I hope they will always hold their memories of her close to their hearts and remember to pass on all the fun stories to the newest little ones. Hugs!

She didn’t know it, but she served as my Ambassador to the U.P. She was the first person I met there. For many years that folllowed, she would be first person to greet me as I entered Perkins. I looked forward to her welcoming smile, as I shouted “Ma, I’m Home” each time I walked thru the door. I will forever miss our fun card games. For me, she is forever seated in that corner stool behind the long bar, at Chum’s.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her entire extended family. You have my deepest condolences.
