Marie Victoria Vanders, age 94, of 1205 Wisconsin Avenue, Gladstone died Sunday morning October 21, 2007 of an apparent heart attack at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba where she had been a resident for the past 10 years.
Victoria was born February 8, 1913 in Rudyard, MI the daughter of Albert and Alexina (Royer) LeGault Sr. She moved with her family from Rudyard at the age of 4 months to Gladstone. Victoria was a graduate of the Gladstone High School, class of 1931.

Victoria was united in marriage to Oscar M. Vanders on November 26, 1938 at the All Saints Church in Gladstone. They made their home at 1205 Wisconsin Avenue in Gladstone where they raised their 2 sons, Lynn and Ned.

Victoria was an active member of All Saints Church in Gladstone where she served on the Altar Guild. Victoria was a good conversationalist and she received enjoyment from listening to all people. She enjoyed spending time at their home, sewing and she was an avid reader.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Lynn J. of Gladstone and Ned F. of Austin, TX.

Numerous nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar, on May 3, 2000, 3 brothers; Albert Jr.; and twins Leo and Louis LeGault, 2 sisters, Melvina Meyer and Edith Schram.

    So sorry to hear about Aunt Victoria. My fondest memory of her is as kids we always had a place for a warm bowl of soup and a sandwich when my Mom would be working.
