To my girlfriend, Cindy, my heart is heavy for you and the entire Srock family members. I thank you for the opportunity several years ago to met your dad and mom during a Denver visit. With laughter we shared stories about being members of the zipper club. Now, we share the prayer of missing our dads, yet knowing they will always with us.

    Dear Dorothy and Family,

I am so saddened by your loss. Tom was a wonderful person and I will remember that about him.

I will always remember with love how kind Tom was to me whenever I would see him. I don’t remember when we first became friends but it seemed like I knew him forever. He always was cheerful, friendly and sincere. He will certainly be missed very much by all who knew and loved him.

My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Tom was the kind of person that made you feel special. I will never forget how kind he was to me when I would pick up Lori. He made it a point to meet me at my car, if I didn’t go inside, and chat for a while. I would always leave with a smile that lasted for days – as you know, he liked to tease us kids!

You couldn’t have summed it up better – infectiuos smile – twinkling eyes – genle non-judgmental unassuming – people like this are few and far between. St. Peter just opened the gates for someone very special.

    With deepest sympathy,

    Dear Dorothy and family,

How blessed you were to have Tom as a husband and father. He was, plain and simply, just a great guy. I thought of him as a little giant of a man. Anyone who knew him will know what I mean by that. He could brighten anyone’s day. He would do anything for anyone. I truly believe he would give you the shirt off his back. I last saw him at my mom’s funeral just over two weeks ago. He never met her, but he came to pay his respects. What a guy! We will never forget him. Our deepest sympathy to your family.

We express our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Tom was a very special friend and we will always remember the kindness he showed to us.

From Norman: I really enjoyed his company and friendship. It was always a pleasure working, cooking, and fishing with him, especially in Canada. I appreciated his and your support and patience on my book project. You are in both of our prayers. I will always cherish all the good memories I have of him and I will miss him.

Tom and I [Harold Bussineau] brother of Cecile Meyette, used to go to go swimming at the West Gladstone Bridge. Had many a good time with Tom. Always looked up to him, since he was older and wiser.

Dear Dorothy, Lori, Cindy and family: My thoughts are with all of you in the loss of your dear husband and father. I have some very special memories of my cousin, Tom, that I would like to share with you. Time spent in Flat Rock when Tom and Barbara and I were children picking berries in the woods in back of the little house where Tom and Barbara were raised. When Tom wanted to try his luck living in the city, he lived with us for a time while testing the labor market in Milwaukee. Tom was several years older and I looked up to and admired him and remember how handsome he was. Years passed and our paths diverged connecting again at a family reunion in Gladstone. The day before the reunion, Tom’s mother passed away and I will never forget how graciously he and Dorothy opened their home to everyone despite their grief. More years passed and it was Tom and Dorothy who made the effort to reconnect when they came to Colorado for annual visits to see their daughters, Lori & Cindy and Lori’s family in Highlands Ranch. Our usual visits were lunch or dinner at Macaroni Grill (children friendly family resturant for Cole and Jordan), or at Lori and Doug’s home and, on one occasion, at my son, Erik, and daughter-in-law, Angela’s home in Evergreen for dinner. I remember it was a Friday and I am certain Tom was hoping for fish; however, we had chicken for dinner without one wince from Tom. I was away during Tom and Dorothy’s visit last year and missed my last chance to see him. I will always remember you, cousin Tom. You were one of the special people in my life, and your quiet gentleness and easy-going manner were an inspiration.

To Dorothy and family: I am shocked and saddened to learn of Tom’s passing. He was one of the best persons I ever knew. He was thoughtful, considerate, kind and was ready to help at a moment’s notice. He was especially helpful along with uncle Vic Srock during my mother’s funeral and later when she was interred at Fernwood Cemetery. I’ll always treasure his friendship and caring.

    Dear Srock Family,

I was so sad to hear from my dad about your dad. Your dad was always so friendly, cheerful and kind. I remember when he would come over to our farm and then take me over to your house to play. As we grow older, we truly realize how much those little things really mean. My thoughts are with you.

I remember Tom all my young life in Flat Rock. He always was a great person. He helped out my mother, Lillian McGuigan, many times. She always had praise for him. I know he will be missed. John

We rented your little white house by the road for about 6 months. The Schrock family made us feel so much at home, it was home. Not to mention sharing the garden. We are so sorry for your loss.

    Dear Srock Family,

My name is Jenna Leisner and I am 13. I would like to say that my sympathy is with your family in this time of loss. Tom was my partner at the St. Vincent De Paul Christmas basket making. He is such a nice guy who loved his family. I also worked with him making pasties in the church basement. He was one of the best jokers I know. I called him “Flour Man” from one of our pasty flour fights. He sure could run and put up a fight. He set a good example to us young people how to help others when not expecting anything in return. He for sure will be sadly missed. He was one of the greatest men I know. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
