Theresa (Terri) Hadel

Resided in Rock, MI
Died October 2, 2022

Theresa “Terri” Hadel, age 75, of Rock passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay with her family by her side.

Terri was born August 13, 1947 in Saco, Maine. She lived there until the age of 12, when her mom and siblings relocated to Ortonville, Michigan. She held her first job at the A&W Root Beer stand in Ortonville, where she eventually ended up meeting the man she would marry, Edward “Hank” Henry Hadel. They were united in marriage on December 24, 1964 in the Methodist Church in Ortonville. They were married for 56 years. They eventually moved to Goodrich, Michigan for awhile and then finally to the Upper Peninsula. They had two kids by the time they moved North. They had their third child after living in the U.P. They settled down in Rock, where they would raise their family.

Terri worked part time as the kids got older and Hank was a mechanic. She eventually went on to work as a cook for many years at Crispigna’s Supper Club, Hereford & Hops and lastly, the Escanaba Country Club. She enjoyed her work and made many good friends along the way. She finally retired due to declining health.

Terri went on to enjoy her family and friends in their home as much as possible. She loved her family with every inch of her heart and was always there to talk to and lend an ear when needed. She always prepared Thanksgiving dinner and the family gathered at their house, a family tradition. Christmas Eve was her and Hank’s anniversary. She cooked and the family would gather to celebrate their anniversary and Christmas. She will be deeply missed but always in our hearts.

Terri and Hank had three kids, William Henry Hadel, Becky Lynn (Hadel) LaBarge and Jeannie Marie (Hadel) Jewell. Terri also had step kids from Hank’s previous marriages, but they were never referred to as “step kids”, she loved them all as her own, Hobart Hart and Michael Hadel. She had five grandchildren and three great grandchildren of her own. Between Hank and Terri, there were thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren in total. She also has three brothers, John (Angel) LaBarge, Joseph LaBarge and Daniel (Deb) LaBarge, a sister, Alice Scofield and a special friend, Marion Ring, who she played Yahtzee with every week.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hank, her parents and her siblings, Linda Ridgeway and William LaBarge

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 5 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM with a closing prayer at 4:30 at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. A luncheon will follow at the Rock Lions Club.

Your mom was always kind to me and my daughter. We had supper at their house one time when she cooked. It was fun to share airplane stories with Hank and then visit with Her after we did the dishes! it was nice to have them close as neighbors. They can now rest together in peace watching over you.
The holidays are approaching and my prayers to all of you as you reminisce all the family traditions. God hold you all close. Diane and Benjamin Goetz-Johnson. ( Rock neighbors)
