Dear Peterson family. My sympathy on the loss of your mom. I first met Sue when she volunteered as a reading buddy in my first grade classroom. She was always so much fun. She had a sparkle in her eyes and a smile in her heart. I enjoyed watching her interact with the kids. One year, she had a particularly challenging buddy. I could tell that his behavior bothered her. I reassured her that he was like that for everyone and that he had given myself and even the principal a “run for our money”. I asked her if she would like to be assigned to a different budddy. Sue was having none of that. On her own initiative, she phoned the child’s parents. I don’t know what she said, or how she said it, but we saw an amazing change in his attitude at school! He came to love your mom and looked forward to seeing her every week. Last year he started serving as an altar boy at All Saints. I am sure your mom had a smile on her face when she saw him on the altar. Your mother/wife touched many lives. I will miss her.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to all of you in losing Sue. I of course knew her all my life and will miss her sharp wit and sincerity. I will never forget her and the situations we put her in when we were growing up. She never quite knew how to take us, but she sure found a way to handle each situation. God Bless her.

God Bless each of you and be strong, she was very much loved and will be greatly missed. You are all in my and my families prayers.

Although I cannot be there for the services, please remember my thoughts and prayers are with you.

This is such a shock. Sue and I go back a long, long time, to childhood friends living in Clarks Mills. We did everything together, going to St. Mary’s school and then Valders High. We were the best of friends, and we had so countless times of sun and laughter. Many times I still laugh at all the fun times we had as children and double dating with the two of you, those are some very fond memories. Who would have known that when we were together in October at Schnells that two out of the eight are gone. Our deepest sympathy to all of you and your fond memories of Sue will hopefully carry you through the days ahead. With much love,

How I will miss our dear Sue! She has been part of our Bible Study for the past years and what a hole she will leave. We affectionately called her “Martha” from the story of Martha and Mary, Martha being the one who serves. What better discription of Sue. She taught us a new way of praying, somewhat like Tevye from Fiddler on the Roof. I’m sure she is still talking to God in the same way today. We loved her so and we grieve with all of you.

    Dear Onni and family,

Sue was a true friend to so many. Those of us who had the pleasure of working with her will always remember her impeccable integrity, work ethic, generosity, strength and humanity. She was there for many of us in our time of need. Sue’s laughter was contagious and could fill a room. She had the uncommon knack of putting you in your place without losing good will. She was special and will be fondly remembered always. My heartfelt condolences to all of you.

I had the pleasure of working with Sue years ago at CUPPAD. She was always quick to help and quick to find humor in the every day situation. I wonder if she knew how many lives she touched along the way? I really hope so, as there were many who counted on her. She helped give me confidence when I wasn’t sure and was one of the most honest, sincere people I have ever worked with. Though it’s been years now since we worked together, I will never forget Sue. She loved her family, her church and her community. What a wonderful lady. She will be missed by all.

Owen, Terry, Tim, Karen & Julie (& your families): My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family during this time. I am so sorry to hear Sue’s death. My memories of Sue are primarily from my childhood, teen & college days growing up in the neighborhood. Your mother is a terrific lady. I have so many memories of her from sleepovers, time spent at your camp, and just spending time with her at your house. She was a big part of my childhood and even as an adult, she always welcomed me to your home. How blessed you were to have her as part of your life and what an impact she has had on the grandchildren & great-grandchildren. I personally know how hard this is for everyone. It is true that with time you are able to heal and move forward with your life. Please know that although I am not with you physically right now, you are all in my thoughts & prayers during this challenging time. May you continue to stay close as a family as you mourn the loss of your wife/mother.
