Escanaba, MI
Steven S. “Stubby” Corbett, age 59, a resident of St, Jude’s Assisted Living Home, formerly of Portage Point in Escanaba passed away peacefully at the St. Francis Hospital on September 16, 2014.

Steve was born April 30, 1955 in Escanaba, the son of Robert Corbett and Joyce (Goldberg) Roberts. He loved nature, fishing and hunting birds and deer. He was an avid Chicago Cub and Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed watching the games with his friends. Steve loved living on Portage Point and often told stories of his walks down the road and the wildlife he observed and watching his “Pets” run around the yard. He was very distraught when his health no longer allowed him to live alone and he had to leave his beloved home.

Steve found a new “family” at St. Jude’s. We are very blessed and thankful to the staff for the loving care, they gave to our Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He will be deeply missed.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Nicky Corbett of Escanaba, grandson, Levi McCarty of Escanaba, sister, Renelle (Paul) Beauchamp of Escanaba, brother, Mark (Elizabeth) Roberts of Escanaba, niece, Sara Beauchamp and nephews, Shaun Beauchamp and Nick Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Roberts, infant brother, Tommy Corbett and maternal grandparents, Roy and Doris Goldberg

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 19 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home with Deacon Terry Saunders officiating.
