Sharon Lee “Sherry” Bergeron, 75, of 7632 26th Road, Rapid River, passed away Sunday evening, June 1, 2014, at the Marquette General Hospital in Marquette following a lengthy illness.

Sharon was born Nov. 15, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Clarence and Pat (Aigin) Yeadon. She was raised in Holt, Mich., where she was a 1957 graduate of Holt High School. Following graduation, Sherry worked for her father in his trucking business.

Sherry was united in marriage to Norm Bergeron on July 22, 1961, in Rapid River. They made their home in Rapid River where they raised their four children. When the children were raised, Sherry joined her husband at Bergeron Marine in Rapid River. She worked with her husband until November of 2012 when her health began to fail.

Sherry was a member of the N.R.A. and she was an excellent pistol shooter. She also enjoyed deer hunting, downhill skiing, bird watching and traveling. Some of her favorite trips included Australia and Japan. All who knew her will sadly miss her.

In addition to her husband Norm, survivors include: children, J.C. (Grace) Bergeron of Rapid River, Betsy Bergeron of Rapid River, Sally Bergeron of Selbyville, Delaware, and Jamie Bergeron of Gladstone; brothers, Wally Yeadon of Lansing, Mich., Herb Yeadon of Monroe, Mich., and Randy Yeadon of Holt, Mich.; sister, Crystal (Ron) Vining of Maggie Valley, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, Tom Crossman, Tyler Crossman, Chris Crossman, Alyssa Sovey, Josh Kositzke, Jake Kositzke, Kyle Williams, Allie Williams, Ronnie Ferrell, Jamisyn Bergeron and Gavin Bergeron; three great-grandchildren, Carson and Connor Sovey and Alex Crossman; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Private funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.

    Prayers and thoughts are with the Bergeron Family. I always enjoyed my visits with Sherry when I would pick up ads for the UP Action News. We would always make each other laugh. We shared the love of dogs, and would share stories of each of our own. Sherry will be missed!

    Oh that Sherry was such a fun, feisty and enthusiastic lady I had the pleasure of being her Daily Press Sales Rep for man years. I learned alot from her and she was unstoppable. My sincere condolences go out to the entire family as she sure will be missed.

    Our heart felt sympathy to the whole Bergeron Family. We will remember Sherri very fondly all the great times camping, snowmobiling and traveling we all had together. Sincerely Jean & Jack Miller

    Mrs Bergeron you will be missed! Because Betsy was my best friend I spent many many days and nights over your house and you always made me feel welcome, you treated me like part of your family. I always enjoyed being around you because you made everything so much fun. Whether it was skiing, shopping, hanging around the house and talking and even smelting. You were as funny as you were pretty. May God bless you and your wonderful family that you leaving behind.
