Sandra Joyce Diener, age 73, of Escanaba passed away peacefully on April 27, 2016 at her home.
Sandra was born August 19, 1942 in Escanaba, the daughter of Howard and Clara (LaCombe) Goodnough. She attended and graduated from Escanaba Area Schools. Sandy was a very hard worker and took pride in the jobs she held especially her custodial position at Pathways. Sandy was loved and appreciated by all of her co-workers at Pathways. The highlight of Sandy’s year was when the staff at Pathways would give her a gift of money so she could take her annual vacation to Marquette.
Sandy loved her son, Dennis, and enjoyed having him over for meals and spoiling him. Sandy loved going to the casino, doing puzzles, collecting dolls and completing paint by numbers. She enjoyed playing games and watching movies. Her favorite activity of all was spending time with her very special friend, Cindy Collins. Sandy looked forward to spending the night at Cindy’s house where they would fix Sandy’s hair, have big dinners, and sit in their pajamas and talk. Sandy loved spending time with Cindy’s family and was adored by each of them! She was a member of the family. Sandy was also blessed with her Willow Creek family who looked out for Sandy and were always willing to help.
Sandra is survived by her son, Dennis Diener, sisters, Marie (James) Quade, Rita (Ken) Seals, Bernice Cook, brothers, Donald (Patty) Campbell and Robert (Roberta) Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Diener, her parents, and a sister, Bonnie Casey.
The family will recevie friends on Wednesday, May 11 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. A reception will follow at the Willow Creek Apartments in Escanaba.
