Ruth Lasky, age 93, of Gladstone, passed away early Wednesday morning January 25, 2012 at the Elder Inn in Rapid River where she currently was residing.
Ruth was born July 15, 1918 in Superior, WI the daughter of the late Alvin and Amanda (Poquette) LaLiberty. She was raised by her grandfather, the late Joseph LaLiberty and lived most of her life in Gladstone. For a few years from 1955 to 1968, her home was in Neenah, WI. She returned to Gladstone where she has resided since.
Ruth was united in marriage to Gilbert Lasky on October 16, 1937 at the All Saint Church in Gladstone. They celebrated 66 years of marriage prior to his death on August 13, 2003.
Ruth was a member of the All Saints Parish and served several years on the Liturgical Ministry and Ministry of Praise. She also sang in the All Saints Church Choir for several years. She was also a member of the Gladstone Childs Welfare Club, Gladstone Senior Center and the Gladstone Golf Club.
Ruth was a longtime Green Packer fan and she never missed watching a game if she could help it. Her hobbies included playing cards, reading and cooking for her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, her brothers, Harris and Gordon, and sister, Harriet Lunberg, preceded Ruth in death.
