Roy Roberts

Resided in Escanaba, MI
Died March 10, 2022

Roy Terry Roberts, 67, passed away on March 10th, 2022 surrounded by his family. He left behind his loving wife of 47 years, Emma (Eckwright) Roberts, six brothers and sisters; Laura Terrien, Sue Snowden, Ann McDonald, Carl Roberts, Joseph Paul Roberts, and Deloris Arnoldi. One son, Cory Roberts, and two daughters Hope Anderson, and Olivia Smith. He was a grandfather to nine grandkids and eight great grandkids.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents Jean and Clifford Joseph Roberts and his brothers Joseph Henry Roberts, Norman F Lauscher J.R., and Clifford John Roberts.

Along with an overly good natured heart that helped anyone in need, his most fond memories are at camp 7, where he was the camp host for many years. Or of course at the casino playing Keno. If you were lucky enough to try one of his homemade pasties, you would know he deserved the title of “Michigan’s Best Pasty Maker”.

Roy was never one to stray away from a good campfire surrounded by his grandkids, sharing stories from the past. His stories will be greatly missed, along with his contagious smile and laugh.
The family would like to give a big thank you to Lois Kern for being helpful with providing meals, rides, and a shoulder to lean on during this difficult time.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 4 PM Eastern time at the Salvation Army, 3001 5th Avenue So. Escanaba, MI 49829, with dinner to follow. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Roberts family.

Emma, I am so very sorry to hear about Roy’s passing. Gosh he was a good man, and while living over at Willow Creek apts, he helped me out many times. I love our conversations with you and Roy. He is going to be missed. My hart is with you and your family.

To Roy’s Family- You are very lucky to have shared your lives with Roy❤️ He is one of the kindest souls I have had the honor to have known. God Bless you all

Been knowing Roy since about 1973. You would be hard to find a more loyal and giving friend. Always ready with a story, a smile and a laugh – all with a good cup of hot coffee.

Roy loved his friends, his family and his maker, and always did what he could to make sure everyone around him were enjoying life and had what they needed. Hungry? He’d share a pastie or whatever he had. Bored? He was always ready to play a game of cards, Dice or maybe Scrabble with you. He’d even let Emma win once in a while! Haha

Roy? I will miss you. But I have no doubt we will see each other again. You trusted in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. And because you confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you ARE saved! That’s a promise we can hang on to! We have the hope of spending eternity together – all of us who trust in Christ! That’s exciting!

Farewell my friend! See you soon!

    John 11:25

Have known Roy for 48 years or so. One of the kindest, most generous and faithful friends you would ever have wanted to meet. Always a laugh or a smile. Always ready to help someone in need. We will miss you.

    Farewell friend! See you again!
