Roy was always a friend and never met a stranger. He was generous, joyful, loving, determined and patient. Roy was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, golfing and camping, although his greatest passion was fishing! And he was good at it. He enjoyed teaching and sharing his knowledge about fishing with anyone young or old. He will be truly missed by so many.

When I first met Roy and Anne in no time it was like I had known them for a long time. I always enjoyed his story’s hunting, trapping, working and whatever else. Did not matter he made them interesting “You Know”. I’m glad we got a chance to know you both.

There is a short list of people you meet in life who are truly as good on the inside are they appear on the outside. Roy was one of those few, unique souls. You could pick a subject and he would be happy to join in. From his favorite topic of anything revolving around the outdoors to even politics. He gave his opinion, and always respected yours. Kindness was always forefront in the manner in which he spoke and carried himself. Roy will forever be a role model for us at Freshwater Vacation Rentals. We often teased him, begging him for a clone. I’m forever grateful for all the heart and soul he poured into the Rapid River Lodge over the years. Thank you, Roy. Thank you for being you. For showing us all what the true goodness in a human being can look like. You will be forever missed, yet never for a minute forgotten.
