6 Tributes for “Ronnie ‘Grub’ D. Dickerson

My 1st memory of my brother in law of almost 48 years… going to the Dickerson home for the 1st time with my new boyfriend Danny Lee. And Ron was playing on a mound of dirt in his underwear with his Hot Wheels cars!!! Danny told me that’s why he was called “Grub”; because he was always playing in the dirt!!! I soon learned that all the Dickerson kids had crazy nicknames & they couldn’t believe that no one in my family had one!! Those boys teased me for years & tried like crazy to think up a nickname for me… but I was just Sharon.
Loved them all like my own brother & especially Grub cuz he was the baby!!! Who turned out to be the tallest of them all I think! Grub had some hard times & he & I talked about how cruel life could be; but he always ended our conversations with a smile, a joke & quite a few swear words!!! He will be missed; but I bet there is a crazy wild party going on right now with him & his brothers & sister!!!

My deepest and sincerest sympathies to all of Ron’s family . I was privileged to meet Ron thru my Dad , Fred Bowden . I instantly seen what my Dad seen in him as well , an open heart , willingness to share and give , no judgement , and an undying connection of care and friendship . He was such a wonderful friend not only to my Dad but myself and family members also . You are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time . May God blanket each and every one of you in his Peace .

My family attended the Salvation Army with Ron. He meant so much to our family. Every Sunday he had hot wheel cars for all the kids in church. He also rolled up his dollar bills into a really tight roll So that when my husband counted the offering he had to unroll them he had such an amazing sense of humor. He had such a beautiful Love for others. We will miss you Ron- Cherie Briggs And family

Grateful for the privilege to know and worship with Ron as his Pastor at The Salvation Army in Escanaba. Ron drove the Church Van to pick people up for Church on Sunday and young people for Youth Activities during the week. He truly had the gift of giving and blessed others in his Services. Praise that Ron knew Jesus and prayers of comfort and peace for his family!

I’m so glad to hear my cousin Ron was a Christian! He is definitely in a great place now and we are the ones left behind to follow his example.
