Ronald J. Brow, age 90, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.

Ronald was born March 27, 1930, in Rock, Michigan, son of Emerson and Eva (Sydmark) Brow. Ronald grew up in Munising, but later moved to Flint, Michigan to attend the School for the Deaf. Ronald then came back to the Upper Peninsula and was a graduate of the Escanaba High School. Ronald was united in marriage to the love of his life, Helen, on May 3, 1958. Together they shared many years of wonderful memories. After high school, Ronald went to work for Northern Rebuilders, where he worked for 40 years. While working at Northern Rebuilders, Ronald also worked part time at night for Bay de Noc Lure making fishing lures. Ronald also was a skilled woodworker, and hand-crafted many pieces for his loving family. He also sharpened saws for many. Ronald enjoyed bowling, was a member of the Escanaba Deaf Club, and the All Saints Catholic Church of Gladstone. He was a very caring man and will be deeply missed by so many.

Ronald is survived by his children, Cathy (Robert) Nivison of Perkins, Ronald (Jane) Brow of Marquette, Jeffery (Jennifer) Brow of Gladstone, and Lynn (Jim) Brow of Gladstone, sister Lois (Bill) Elliott of Escanaba, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ronald is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Brow, his parents, Emerson and Eva Brow, brother Lawrence Brow, and sisters Edna Brow and Evelyn (Marvin) Ducheny.

A memorial service honoring Ronald is being planned for a later date and will be announced. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Brow family.

    Cathy, Ron, Jeff and Lynn…so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a hell of a guy. Whenever I ran into your parents I would always share a good laugh with them. I loved their expressions as Helen and he would talk…they made having a conversation FUN. What a great neighborhood we grew up in

    I worked with Ron at the “Pimple Shop” after I got out of high school. Ron was one of the nicest men I’ve ever known. My condolences to his entire family.

    When we were building Kids Kingdom I would run all the saw blades over to Mr Brow at 10:00 pm and he would have them all ready for me at 8:00 am the next morning. He was a great giving soul and will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Mr. Brow

    To the Brow Family,
    Ron was the best. His picture says exactly what kind of a man he was. For many years he sharpened our family’s skates, axes, knives etc. He always had a smile. Truly a good person.
    To each of you my sympathies. Kathy my heart goes out to you. Hugs. Now he is with your mom, once again and enjoying eternal life.

    Ron ( Ronnie ) as we called him. he was such a kind soul and could be very funny and a tease , he always made us all laugh.
    Lois Brow Elliott is my cousin , I’m Carol Derouin Hyde. My Mother Marie Derouin just loved to joke and tease with Ron, he would come right back at her as soon as Helen told him what she said. They would go round and round. My mother and father have passed yr.s ago So now the little battles of fun are carrying on again.
    Rest in peace dear sweet cousin Ron. We didn’t get to see each other much after my folks moved us to to Muskegon Mi.
    But I like the way I will be remembering you .
    I remember all of you kids as very young , but we never got to know any of you, Cathy,Ron. Jeff , Lynn.
    But please , accept our deep heartfelt sympathies for the lose of your father.
    Lois , we’re so sorry for the lose of your brother. I know I feel he is at rest and at home with our Lord and all the family and I’m sure he can hear and see again. God give you all the peace in knowing he is home and safe.

    RIP Ron, Ill always remember the good times we had with you at deaf meetings and the annual deaf picnics. So many conversations to remember and your smile too, you were always a happy person.

    Lynn and family, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. He was always so nice and kind when I went over to your house. I really enjoyed his sense of humor too. I saw him in October when I brought my grand kids trick or treating at Bishop Noa Home and he recognized me and I told him who I was and he lit up and had a big smile. I was so glad I was able to see him one last time. He is at peace now and with your Mom, they are together again forever. God Bless
