Roman Thomas Krause

Resided in Marquette, MI
Died March 19, 2022

Roman Thomas Krause, age 3, went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2022.
Throughout his life, he was surrounded by family who loved him dearly.

Roman was born on February 8, 2019 to Tom and Kerrie Krause of Marquette, Michigan. He was always loved with open arms by his big sister, Hadley. Roman’s special charm and sweet heart were evident since the moment he took his first breath. His life was full of smiles, kisses, and so many snuggles. Above all, Roman was an inspiration to all. In his 3 years, he touched the hearts and souls of many people with his story. Roman was brave, a fighter, a trailblazer, and a heart-stopper through and through. To know him was to love and adore him deeply. Roman’s time on Earth was spent with family, having dance parties in the living room, enjoying family parties, and being entertained by his silly parents and big sister. He loved to be held and talked to, spend time outside, and rock a good hat and pair of sunglasses. He was a bright shining light for all those around him.

Roman is survived by his parents and big sister Tom, Kerrie, and Hadley Krause; his grandparents Tom and Kerri Krause and Randy and Kathy Arwine; his aunts and uncles Jill and Tim Sysko (Roman’s godparents), Amy and Scott Ayotte, Lisa and Brandon Gagnon, and Brad and Jamie Arwine; and his cousins Mitchell, Owen, and Lainey Sysko, Logan, Carson, and Kamryn Ayotte, Blake and Brock Gagnon, and Ryan “Tink” Graham and Baby Arwine. In addition, Tom and Kerrie’s aunts, uncles, cousins, and Roman’s great-grandma Grace Krause have played a large role in loving and supporting Roman and the family.

Roman’s family will receive family and friends on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM, at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Closing prayers will be conducted at 8:00PM. Although I have never met the sweet boy, my prayers are with you all during this most difficult time.

My deepest condolences to the family: like many, I never feel like I have the words in these situations. So I’ll borrow someone else’s.

“Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there; I did not die.”
    Mary Elizabeth Frye

Praying for Kerry, Tom, Hadley, Randy and Kathy, as well as the entire family. May the comfort of the Holy Spirit be yours in full measure.

Roman, it was very easy to see how much you were loved. I was very blessed to lay witness to your living spirit and I so enjoyed watching you throughout your three years here on earth. You were such a miracle to all those who knew you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all through this difficult time. Please know that I am offering up my entire Lenten penance and daily mass for the repose of little Roman Thomas’ soul. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

So very sorry of the loss of your sweet Roman. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this sad and very difficult time. May God bless all of you.
