Roger G. Larson, age 87, of Gladstone, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023.

Roger was born January 1, 1936, in Cameron, WI, the son of Lloyd and Ruth (Anderson) Larson.

Roger was united in marriage to Lucille Ewald on November 19, 1957. Together they raised their three daughters. While working on the boats Roger and his family relocated to the Upper Peninsula.

Roger worked for the Soo Line as a Conductor up until his retirement. He also spent several years scrapping metal.

In earlier years Roger was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and trout fishing. He also enjoyed trapping and coin collecting.

Roger is survived by:

Daughters: Sue Robitaille of Gladstone, MI and Nancy Dillabough of Escanaba, MI

2 Brothers: Ronald Larson of Milwaukee, WI and Robert Larson of Minong, WI

7 Grandchildren: Amanda (Jeremy) Oullette, Justin (Katie) Godfrey, Jason (Ashley) Robitaille, Nathan (Ashley) Robitaille, Nicole Bower, Ruth Larson and Randy Dillabough

25 Great Grandchildren

3 Great Great Grandchildren and 1 on the way.

2 Sisters-in-law: Ilene Larson and Caroline Amundson

1 Son-in-law: Bill Yardley

And several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

In addition to his Parents and Wife, Lucille, Roger is preceded in death by Daughter, Karen Yardley and Siblings: Dick Larson, Lorraine Gillette and Lil Carley

Family will receive friends on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow visiting hours at 4:00 PM. Roger will be laid to rest in the Pine Grove Cemetery next to his beloved wife in Cameron, WI. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Larson family.

    “Uncle Jerry” …was such a positive and inspiring person in life. Always smiling, laughing, which was so infectious that one couldn’t help smiling and laughing along with him. His home was always a welcoming place where one felt comfortable in his presence. A cold beverage always offered…..insisted ! He will be dearly missed. Loved life !!!

    Roger was our neighbor for over 40 years. Always a nice man when he stopped by. We will miss seeing ride by as he had in previous years. Thoughts to his whole family.

    We are sorry that Harold and Roger will not be able to be at the funeral home today, but wanted to let you know that we have been thinking of you with care and sympathy in your great loss.

    Roger was a very special person!! Glad he enjoyed his life & that he lived to 87 years young!
