Roberta (Robin) Dowd Phillips has passed away at UP Health System in Marquette, following a brief illness on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Robin was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1949. She went to and graduated from Mukwonago High School. She met Navy Corpman Jim Phillips and soon married after she graduated in 1968. They then moved to Gladstone Michigan in 1977. Throughout her life Robin had owned several businesses. From a bar, a trading post, and a cleaning service business. Robin has 2 children, 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
Robin is preceeded in death by her parents Marion and Russell Dowd.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years James Phillips, 2 daughters Tracy (Dennis) Elford- Olivehill, Kentucky and Shelli (Tim) Murray- Soo Hill. 7 grandchildren include Vikki (Gavin) Fletcher- Rapid River, Brittany Schneider- Perkins, Jodi (Jeff) McDaniel- Menasha, Daniel Helman- Olivehill, Kentucky, Devin Shaine- Gladstone and Hannah (Casey) Jones- Escanaba, Angellica Roseberry- Arkansas. 9 great grandchildren includes Phoebe Fletcher, Ashton Fletcher, Landon Schneider, Easton Schneider, Bentley Sanpaka, Aubree Butts and Zariaha Johnson, Octavia Roseberry, Zachariah Roseberry. We would like to include a very special friend/family member Linda Whitman of Gladstone. Also included are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
There will be a celebration of life for Robin that will be held on October 18th… from 12:00-4:00 at the Amvets 1315 N. Lincoln Road in Escanaba.
