Robert Charles Brinkman, age 77, of Gladstone, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at his residence in Gladstone.

Robert was born January 17, 1943 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Arman and Charlotte (McCue) Brinkman.

Robert was raised in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and graduated from their area schools. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1963. He was in the 101st Airborne. He was honorably discharged in 1966. Robert worked for Gliddens in Baltimore, MD as a steel worker. He lived in Maryland with his kids before relocating to Michigan.

Robert loved to hunt, fish, go camping, and spend time with family and friends. He especially loved his Grandchildren.

You will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

3 Sons: Robert (Grace) Brinkman, Jr. of Louisiana
Joe Brinkman of Texas
Shawn (Shawn M.) Brinkman of Manistique, MI
2 Daughters: Emily (Brett) Vanderheide of Central Lake, MI
Jennifer (Patrick) Gasperich of Gladstone, MI
1 Brother: Mike Brinkman
20 Grandchildren
14 Great Grandchildren
And many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins

In addition to his Parents, Robert is preceded in death by:
2 Sons: Thomas and Brian Brinkman

Family will schedule services at a later date. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Brinkman family.

    You were a wonderful person and taught me so much. I’ll never forget our times spent together. You were there when I got my first buck! You’ll be forever in my heart.

    I met you at a sad time in my life you were there in my time of need . And made me feel like family. I enjoyed spending time with all of you. I will miss you now you will be with my brother butch. Rest in peace my dear friend

    Grandpa you were my best friend, my world and i dont know what I’m going to do without you! You had the biggest, caring, understanding heart. Youre love was unconditional.     Bob it is hard to imagine a Deer season without hanging out you. We had so many memorable times together whether it was hunting, fishing, or just hanging out. You always told us we were family we treated each other as such. I know how much you loved your children and grandchildren even when you didn’t agree with one another. Bob it has been an honor to call you my friend and family.

    I always considered you as my 3rd grandfather you taught me so many life lessons from how to properly clean my gun to how to tie my boots when I was a little boy. I will forever miss you and I’m thankful for the time that we got to spend together over the years I love you grandpa Bob and I will always miss you.

    Another great man called home, Bob was and always will be a huge piece of my heart. I will never forget the handicap hunts and the stories that went along with them. You will always be missed trooper.

    I am truly blessed to have been able to have the conversations we did and gotten to find each other. Even if it was in such a shocking and odd way. Thank you so much for being such a good friend for my brother Jeff also. Rest in peace Uncle Robert ❣️ You are loved and you will be missed.

    It’s hard to believe that you are gone for a year now I am so beside myself I really miss talking to you every day not a day goes by that I don’t cry about the lose of you and how you made me feel like I’m worth something even if I didn’t see it at times Miss you my favorite uncle Robert for ever you will be missed

    Miss you so much every single day hey you grandpa but I’m missing you a little more than usual today. Just spent the last couple of days in the u.p. with my fiance Dave and his parents and while I watched Dave and his dad cut wood I couldn’t help but think of you. There were little signs throughout each day that you were with me and watching over me. I miss and love you more than I could ever put into words!! Please keep watching over us all. I hope we’re making you proud. Until we meet again ❤️ you’ll forever be in my heart!
