I spent many years involved with Richard at the Escanaba Elks Lodge doing countless programs and activities. He was a very dedicated person and would always be there to donate his time and talents. I know he was also deeply involved in many other organizations too. He will be greatly missed. Richard was very kind, very talented, very giving of himself and most of all fun to be with. Through all the difficulties that he faced and through the good times, he always had a good story to share. I am proud to have been able to call him my friend. My deepest sympathies go out to Lynn and the family.

Granda Dick was always a caring person. He could always make you smile, even when things weren’t going well.
I wish I could have been able to spend more time with him, but living so far away made that hard.
I remember all the good times staying over at his house with him, Grandma Lynn, and Aunt Heather when me and my sister were little. Memories I will never forget.
I love you and you will be miss greatly Grandpa!

My memories of Dick go back to when my mom and dad…Mike and Pauline McMartin…would have Dick and his brother, Dan, over to our home. Dick was always a class act willing to do anything to help his Uncle Mike or Aunt Pauline out. Many years after Mom and Dad retired Dick spent some time with them in Minong, WI while working a job nearby…Mom and Dad so enjoyed his company and what kind of man he was. I deeply respect his integrity and pride…he loved his family and cared for others. We are very sad for his immediate family for their tremendous loss, but know my Dad is in heaven with him right now and they both have big smiles on their faces. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dick, Lynn and family.
