Regina M. Piron, age 73, Escanaba, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Murray’s Country View in Gladstone, surrounded by her family.
Regina was born June 5, 1948, in Escanaba, the daughter of Reginald and Ina (Bowman) Piron. Regina was raised in Wells and graduated from Escanaba High School as part of the class of 1966. Following high school, Regina went to work for Michigan Bell, now AT&T, where she worked for 30 years locally and also in Traverse City. Following retirement, Regina moved back to the Upper Peninsula.
Regina loved working in her flower garden. She took great pride in her yard. She also loved to bake and was famous for her cardamom bread and spritz cookies. Regina loved cats and over the years took care of many. She even was known to take in and care for strays. She will be deeply missed by many.
Regina is survived by her sister Gay (Dan) Kleikamp, brother Jim Piron, nieces and nephew Tricia (Scott) Pendergraft, Kelly (Scott) Arnold, and Dan (Samantha) Kleikamp, great nieces and nephews Jamie (Lindsey) McDonough, Tyler Arnold, Scott, Brooklyn, and Noah Pendergraft, and Braylen, Madalin, and Daniel Kleikamp.
Regina is preceded in death by her parents, Reginald and Ina.
Private entombment at Gardens of Rest will take place at the convenience of the family.

So many fun memories shared with the Piron family while growing up in Wells: picnics at Twin Springs, ice skating on the rink next to their house, 4-H sewing lessons with frosted graham crackers as a treat, sleepovers, their big garden, playing kick the can in the alley, paper dolls, Christmas Day visits to check out the swag; the list goes on. Regina’s laugh is one that I won’t forget. May she rest in peace back again in Wells.
