Raymond Dale Dawley, age 74, of Escanaba, formerly of Brampton, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Raymond was born October 6, 1939 in Clarkston, Michigan, the son of Henry and Dorothy (Brooks) Dawley. He was united in marriage to Diane Cumberworth on July 15, 1983 in Ortonville, Michigan. Raymond retired as a supervisor for Pontiac Motors and owned and operated Northern Experience Flea Market in Rapid River.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Diane; three sons, Jeff Dawley of Goodrich, MI, Chris (Melba) Dawley of Northport, AL, and Brian (Schaine) Carter of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, J.R., Chase, Hannah and Caleb; one great grandchild, Kaidyn Grace; sister, Sharon (Paul) Hockin of Raymond, MS and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald and Ronald.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 4:00 PM at the Perkins Cemetery with Rev. Suzanne Ray officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Delta County Cancer Alliance, the ALS Association (www.alsa.org) or the St. Francis Hospital.
The Dawley family is being assisted by the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba.
