Randy was an outdoorsman his whole life. He especially loved fishing for walleye and chasing grouse behind his Brittany Spaniels. Randy loved his grandchildren, Claire and Easton more than anything. He enjoyed watching Claire figure skate and taking Easton to camp, stopping at the Perkins Store for a bottle of Grape Faygo. He was heartbroken when he lost MaryAnn in 2016. In his later years, Randy rediscovered golf, and was active in the leagues and tournaments at Irish Oaks Country Club.

Those that knew Randy know that he wouldn’t want you to be sad or cry about his passing. He would want you to celebrate his life and the good memories that you have of him. Mr. Roeske will be missed so much by our family. He was the best neighbor and kindest man. It will not be the same not seeing him outside daily. My boys will miss visiting with him and working in the yard with him. We will miss the light flicker he sent to the boys each morning to tell them to have a good school day. We are so sorry for your loss. Your family is in our continued thoughts and prayers.

I am so very sorry for your loss…Randy was such a gentle man….I will miss seeing him at Irish Oaks.

I remember the interaction I had with both Maryann and Randy and enjoyed talking with both of them when our paths would cross in both Michigan and Eagle River. As a former Gladstone resident I know they chose a great place to retire and enjoyed everything Gladstone and and Delta county had to offer. Of everything the area offered the most important thing was Reid, his wife and there grandchildren. Please know that they were proud of all of your accomplishments. Please know our thoughts are with you at this time,

I had the pleasure of coming to know Mary Ann and Randy and had the honor of caring for them when they moved here to be closer to their family. Reid and Jess, Claire and Easton were the sun and the moon to them. I know that Randy is reunited with the love of his life and they will be a forever memory as two of the most caring people I knew. God Bless you Reid and Jess he will live on through your family and the memories you’ve made. He will be sorely missed, know that you are loved

We are so sorry for your loss .. Randy was a wonderful neighbor and we will miss him so much ((( hugs))) to you Reid Jessica Claire & Easton

I will always remember Randy and MaryAnn fondly. MaryAnn was a great friend and fellow teacher who was so encouraging when I was new to the profession. Randy was my hero back in 1987 when I had a rather serious injury from being thrown from my horse near their home on Loon Lake Rd. in Eagle River. Randy, thankfully was home, rushed to assist, and called the ambulance. I don’t know what my friends and I would have done without his calm, cool, approach to the situation. He and MaryAnn were simply the best. Reid, I didn’t really know you, but knew that you were the center of their universe. They were so very proud of you and I know that you have always been a good son. Sincere sympathy to you and your entire family.
