Priscilla Veronica Legault, age 99, of Escanaba passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 25, 2019.

Priscilla was born March 7, 1920 in Garden, Michigan, the daughter of George and Ora (Guertin) Farley. She was raised in Garden and graduated from Garden High School in 1937. She moved to Detroit to go to beauty school after which she moved back to Manistique and worked as a beautician. After some time she returned to Detroit, with her sisters. At this time she worked in the factories during World War II as a “Rosie the Riveter”. Priscilla was a member of the St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parish in Escanaba and enjoyed bowling and playing bridge. Every Wednesday her friends would come to her house to play bridge, which she greatly enjoyed.

Priscilla is survived by her daughter, Roberta Sharp of Escanaba; brothers, Larry (Svetlana) Farley of Escanaba and Wayne (Sharlene) Farley of Hamilton, Montana; sisters, Muriel (the late Walt) Whitman of Manistique and Joann (the late Jim) Theisen of Mount Vernon, New York; sister-in-law, Louise (the late Francis James) Legault of Escanaba and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Legault, son, Michael Legault, parents, George and Ora Farley, sister, Mae (Heinz) Strobel, sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Lloyd) Villeneuve, brother-in-law, Ed (Margaret) Legault and Uncle Norman (Irene) Sjogren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 28 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parish in Escanaba with Fr. Timothy Ferguson officiating. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall. Priscilla will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in the spring.

With the passing of Priscilla on Christmas morning, we now have a new Christmas angel. Fly free mom, no more oxygen cords.

The family would like to extend a “Thank You” to Gentle Hands and Gayla Ansel for their kind and compassionate care during the final months of Priscilla’s life. Priscilla wanted to live independently in her own home and Gentle Hands made it possible for her to stay home as she wished.

    beautiful Priscilla’s

Priscilla and my Dad, Walter Joque, were cousins. They were always close. As a result Priscilla was very close to our family. She visited with us whenever our “family camp outs” were near Escanaba. The last couple of years my brothers and I would stop to see her on our way through town on our UP vacations. We will miss her and those visits. Say hi to our Mom and Dad in Heaven.
