Paul Norman Roberts, age 79, of Rapid River, passed away peacefully Monday night, October 19, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
Paul was born November 22, 1940 in Escanaba, MI, the son of Robert and Doris (Rushford) Roberts. He graduated from Rapid River High School, class of 1959 and shortly thereafter joined the US Army as a member of the 1st Infantry Division “The Big Red One” and served in Vietnam. Paul was employed by Harnischfeger in Escanaba for nearly 25 years as a burning table operator, he then worked at Rapid River Rustic Cedar Homes for an additional 24 years. Hobbies included coaching and umpiring little league baseball games, Amateur Radio, and watching the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Pistons. He was united in marriage to Barbara Sigfrids on October 29, 1966.

1 Daughter: Rhonda (Nick Kobach) Roberts of Green Bay, WI
1 Brother: David Roberts of Rapid River, MI
1 Sister: Kay (David) Goymerac of Rapid River, MI

The Roberts family would like to send a special thanks to Christian Park Healthcare Center and OSF St. Francis Hospital for their wonderful care.
Family will receive friends Monday, October 26 from Noon until 1 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. A funeral service will follow visiting hours at 1:00 PM at Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Paul will be laid to rest in the Rapid River Cemetery with military honors being presented by the Rapid River American Legion Post 301. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family so they can forward it to the charity of their choice. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Roberts family.
