Patrick G. Sullivan, age 76, of 502 Michigan Ave. Gladstone, passed away on Monday, December 22nd, 2008 at home surrounded by family members. Pat was born December 26th, 1931 in Gladstone the son of Henry and Eunice (Lester) Sullivan and he was always proud of his Irish ancestry. After his graduation from the Gladstone High School, Pat entered military service and served his country from 1949 to 1952 with the United States Air Force. He also was a member of the National Guard until 1962. For over 32 years, Pat was employed for Harnischfeger Corporation in Escanaba and retired as a machinist.
Pat was united in marriage to the former Theresa M. Derouin on September 13th, 1952 at St. Anne Chapel in Escanaba and together raised five children.
Pat and Theresa enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and gardening. Many family and friends were treated to his vegetables he grew from seed and with his own special compost. In addition, he enjoyed woodworking and loved making his wife, Theresa, and other family members many items that they will always cherish, including the pram,

For the past few years, I’ve been blessed to be welcomed into the sullivan family, and it has been wonderful to get to know everyone, espically pat and teresa, who were the first to open their home and hearts to my family and myself. it saddens me to know that i will never get to know grandpa sully the way everyone else did, but what I did get to know is that he loved everyone, and funny boy was he funny. He had a story or a joke for everything anyone said. Pat was the closest thing I had to a grandfather, so thanks!!! I just want the sullivan family to know how thankful I am for having the greastest opportunity in the world to meet such an inspering funnny ful of life man. I will miss you, grandpa sullyR.I.P

Theresa and family: We are so sad to hear of Pat’s passing on Monday. We have been your neighbors for almost 25 years, and have many wonderful memories of Pat. We are glad that we got to see him several times in the last month or so, unfortunately it was at St. Francis. He fought the fight and he is not suffering anymore. We will not be attending the service, as we are still in Milwaukee with Tom. We will certainly be there in thoughts and prayers though.
