Patrick M. Reimer, age 68, of Rapid River, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at UP Health Systems Hospital in Marquette with his family by his side.
Patrick was born on October 3, 1956 in Escanaba, the son of Roy and Violet (McIntyre) Reimer. He was raised in Gladstone and attended Gladstone schools, graduating in 1976. He developed a love for the outdoors at a young age. He was an avid deer hunter, loved hunting rabbits with his beagles, and was a well-known fisherman on Little Bay de Noc. Most days he could be found fishing or cutting wood on his land. He was generous with the fish he caught, often sharing with family, friends and neighbors. If the season was right, he loved picking blueberries and foraging for mushrooms. In later years he took pride in keeping a well-manicured yard. He worked for most of his life as a truck driver with National Wine and Spirits and also with AM Express. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. His absence will be felt by his family and friends.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Reimer; step-daughters Tina Mills and Lisa (Duane) Webber; grandchildren Makayla and Caden; great-grandchildren Bennett and Ezra; brother Mike (Diane) Reimer of Eagle River, WI; niece Katie; and nephews Sean and Chris. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Violet.
Patrick will be laid to rest in the Nadeau Township Cemetery on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 12:00 noon EST time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. We are so sorry to his wife and family. He always came over to our place for apples for his deer hunting and we were grateful to let him take whatever he wanted. Plus he was so kind that he would bring a few packages of venison over too…even though we told him he didn’t have to. Pat was such a kind man. We just seen him within the past few weeks at dollar general and he called us over by his car to talk. He spoke so happily that his wife was coming home and also that he had fallen at some point. When we seen his obituary we both cried…such a kind, caring man…and we’re grateful that we’ve gotten to know him over the past years. May God bless him and his family left behind too. Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with you.

I’m sorry to hear about Pat. Pat was a 1976 classmate of mine. I would often visit him if I seen him out in his yard when stopping at the Dairy Flo. In Rapid River. Over the past 15 years while driving through Rapid, I would often see Pat on his four wheeler go to or from his other property. R.I.P. my friend.
