Norma J. Peloza, born on May 7, 1946, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer on Friday, October 30, 2020, at her home in Kipling, MI.

Norma was born in Muskegon, MI, the daughter of Lawrence and Doris (Paggeot) Hansen. Growing up in Whitehall, MI, she later moved to the U.P. and raised her three children in Delta County. Norma and her loving husband, Mark, have spent 30 wonderful years together. Norma enjoyed caring for her home, cooking for family and friends, gardening, the company of her furry companions, and watching the wildlife that played in her backyard. She was a spirited redhead with a loving and generous heart who will be missed by many.

Norma is survived by her husband; mother; daughters Kimberly (Pat) Geurts of Lester Prairie, MN, and Jolene (Mike) Tuyls of Bark River, MI; son Michael Tietz of Escanaba, MI; step-children Sarah (Cory) Hanson of Escanaba, MI and John (Christie) Peloza of Zion, IL; grandchildren Brandon, Olivia, Abby, Ashleigh, Josh, Meaghan, Hannah, and Cassandra; step-grandchildren Autumn, Ivy, Isaac, and Evan; great-grandchildren Hadley and Liam; siblings Jim Hansen of Cortez, CO, Jean Bruesch of Whitehall, MI, Kathy (Joe) Karboski of Oshkosh, WI, Larry (Brendon) Hansen of Montague, MI, Ruth (William) Allianic of Escanaba, MI, sister-in-law Eliza Hansen of Plainfield, IL; brothers-in-law Jerry (Kathy) Peloza of Crystal Falls, MI and Craig (Lisa Valiquette) Peloza of Appleton, WI; and many other loving family members and friends.

Norma is preceded in death by her father, brother Andrew Hansen, brother-in-law, Joe Bruesch, and niece Tara VanderLeest.

Upon Norma’s request, private family services will be held at a future date. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements.
