Norma C. Calvey, age 86, of 415 South 4th Street, (Fairview Manor) Gladstone, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon April 20, 2005 while being transported, by ambulance, from Green Bay, WI back to her home in Gladstone.
Norma was born April 14, 1919, in Gladstone, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Gagnon) Artley, who preceded her in death. Norma was raised in Gladstone and attended the Gladstone schools. On September 12, 1938, Norma married William E. Calvey and the couple remained in Gladstone, for a short period of time, before moving to Southgate, MI. They lived in Southgate until 1968 at which time the couple returned to Gladstone. William preceded Norma in death on January 19, 1997. Norma volunteered her time as a Eucharistic minister at All Saints Church in addition to serving on the housing commission at the Fairview Manor. She belonged to the Gladstone American Legion Auxiliary Post #71 where she was the past president. Norma enjoyed playing cards, dancing and shopping. She loved taking care of her family and spending time with the ones she loved. She will be deeply missed.

2 Daughters: Betty (Carl) Hungo of Naples, FL; Kathy (Tim) Pelloquin of Wyandotte, MI
2 Sisters: Alice Erickson of Gladstone, MI; Mildred Lund of Rapid River, MI
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna, her husband, William, 1 daughter, Maureen Delgado, 1 son, Michael Calvey, 2 brothers, Harold and Edward Artley, and 2 sisters, Hazel LaLonde and Violet Blatterbauer.
Family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00AM to 12:30PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Auxiliary services conducted by Gladstone American Legion Post #71 Auxiliary will follow at 12:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial services celebrating the life of Norma C. Calvey will follow at 1:00PM at the All Saints Church with Fr. Arnold Grambow officiating. Luncheon will follow in the All Saints Church parish hall. Committal will be in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Calvey family with arrangements.
