Nicholas G. Thennes, age 73, of 7403 Hwy U.S. 2-41 & 35, Gladstone, passed away Friday morning in the loving arms of his family and God on September 18, 2009 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba.
Nicholas was born June 18, 1936 in Gladstone the son of Nicholas Joseph and Ida Mae (Zimmel) Thennes. He was raised in Garden where he worked with the family excavating business and hauling pulp wood. His working career included working for the Delta County Road Commission from 1956 to 1968. Nicholas then joined the Operating Engineer

    Chuck and I got to know Nikie when he came to visit Irv and Jen Thennes next door to us. We are sad at his passing and our thoughts and prayers are with you as you part with him. He was a dear and gentle person. May God bless you and help you during this trying time.
